Advanced technologies help gaming make a paradigm shift
Jaiyant Cavale | Jul 22 2008

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, the latest game to hit the stores has characters that are intelligent enough to keep the player guessing and the game is not preprogrammed. As there have been a lot of developments in video-game design, characters in games are endowed with self-preservation and unpredictability unlike the earlier ones. The ‘Star wars’ game offers an advanced degree of realism and is on par with mainstream entertainment. The technology is called ‘Euphoria’ and delivers a unique 3D animated experience. Other games like ‘Spore’ and ‘Sims’ immerse a player into a whole new universe, which is a product of their own imaginations. These new games can be handled only by Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360, Sony Corp.’s PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Co.’s Wii. Another possibility is for the characters to carry out conversations with players in the future. Advancements in technology might result in a completely different style of games that might surprise us with their sophistication.
